Rochester final thoughts...

Well, what can I say, the time spent in Rochester had been wonderful beyond expectation. We spent time with most of my family and ate our way through 5 days. Abbott's custard, Dons original, and that Italian bakery that I still can't pronounce. Great time at Diane's, Sharon's, and Francis where we talked stories with everyone and yes, ate. Then came picnic day. The weather was perfect and the day was wonderful. The stories really brought back great memories and for me I never get tired of hearing them. Teresa was probably a little overwhelmed, but she finally got to put faces on all the stories she has heard from me. The icing on the cake was having Debbie, Mike, and Larry to share it with. I thank everyone that planned and made the day possible and all that were there. It will undoubtedly be the best day of our trip and I will never forget it. I believe all the Aunts and Uncles were looking down at us and very proud to see us spending time together. Again thank all of you for a great stay. I love all of you, Ron.

Now my turn...

Leaving Rochester is bitter sweet. On one hand we are set off to some of our most anticipated stops, New York City and New England in the fall. On the other hand, we are leaving family. Our stay in Rochester has been a whirl wind of visiting, meeting, and eating. But what a time it's been.

The icing on the cake of course was the Family Picnic on Sunday. When we first started planning this trip over a year ago, our thoughts were that we would see as many relatives as possible. Then came the email from Diane that the picnic was set and will we be around by then? Well, we made it a goal destination. The ball was rolling and before we knew it Larry, Debbie and Mike were committed, and the California Cousins were representing!

The picnic was definitely more than we expected. Thank you to everyone who shared their delicious food, shared great photos, and time visiting. It is always fun to reminisce and look back to the simpler days, and hearing all the stories, no matter how many times they are told.

A huge thank you to everyone for all the planning and preparations, the great food and taking the time to put it all together. You have all made our stop over in Rochester very special and we hope to do it again. Love, Teresa
